Ma Jia Shen to write theme song for the Charity Carnival; Rose to lead the children in Wing Choon martial arts show

As charity ambassador, Malaysian song writer cum singer Ma Jia Shen will write a theme song for the Charity Carnival (Hai Hun Brings Love & Care) (海韵献爱心,温情满天下). Ma, who seldom writes commercial songs, will write a song that will be easily picked up by children, and shall teach the children of the Klang Handicapped Children Centre to sing along with her.

The Klang Handicapped Children Centre, the beneficiary of the proceeds from the Charity Carnival, is home to the underprivileged. At present, the double-storey terrace house houses 78 children, and expenses for maintaining the home has since surged to RM30,000 a month. The centre is under-budget!

The Charity Carnival is part of the charitable activities of Hai Hun Production (M) Sdn Bhd. More such activity to raise fund for charity would follow. The organizer invited Rose Chan from Hong Kong as the charity’s ambassador. Rose, who visited the centre in September, will lead a group of students from SRJK Kwong Han to present the Wing Choon martial arts during the Charity Carnival, with the purpose of raising funds for the Klang Handicapped Children Centre.

Several local artistes have responded to the call and promise to perform for the two-day carnival. Besides Ma Jia Shen, other artistes include Pei Jet, Vick, Serene, Mandy, Reno, Hao and Celine.

Meanwhile, giving full collaborations to the charity carnival is Didadee. It urged the public to donate generously through SMS. For a donation of RM5, key-in ‘PPKK5’ , and for a donation of RM10, key-in ‘PPKK10’, and send to 36113. The donation will go to the Klang Handicapped Children Centre.

“To show your care and love to children is very simple; a warm hug is enough,” said Mandy, whose eyes were filled with tears when the promotional video clip was shown. Mandy, the only artiste who would not be singing during the Charity Carnival will show her skill in calligraphy. “If any business organization is willing to donate more, I don’t mind singing a song, but it will hurt your ears,” she said. |

“My performance will be a breakthrough for me,” said Reno. But, when asked what will be her breakthrough performance, she said besides singing, whatever performance will be a breakthrough performance for her. She said she would perform magic to entertain the children. |

It is hard for Serene Chang to believe that there are 78 children cramped in a double storey house of the Klang Handicapped Children Centre. “I hope the public would donate generously, so that the children would have a better living environment,” said Serene. She will perform a Sacapella dance at the Charity Carnival. |
