LOVESTRUCK: The 164 couples having a blast. |
Love recently lined up by the dozens at Tropicana Mall in conjunction with the release of The Proposal. One hundred and sixty four couples turned up and participated in various activities organised by Buena Vista, which included the Longest Marriage Proposal Contest, a Mass Proposal and Best Dressed Couple challenge.
Leelatulasi Salwoom, 29 and Loga Ramasamy, 33 were one of the couples who joined the Mass Proposal.
They had been dating for a year and a half before Loga popped the question in October last year.
"He didn’t get down on one knee," said Leela. Loga revealed that he proposed to his ladylove in his car in front of her house in Selayang.
"Today’s event will probably be the most romantic proposal from him," laughed Leela as Loga went down on one knee with a rose in his mouth, portraying the classic lover during the mass proposal activity.
Couple Muhammad Syarzil Muhd Ghazi and Nurain Ali won RM2,000 worth of prizes from Salvatore Ferragamo for being the Best Dressed Couple, as chosen by a panel of judges including designer Carven Ong, and Cosmopolitan editor Izza Ibrahim.
In the Longest Marriage Proposal contest, over 150 couples participated by sending in their most creative marriage proposals to Golden Screen Cinemas. Five couples were chosen by mystery judges to perform two tasks - answering a questionnaire about their other half and demonstrating their love for one another without speaking.
After completing the two tests, it was Hanson C’hng Hien Seng and Catherine Lee Chi Hui who won the grand prize with their creative expressions of love.
They were rewarded with a bridal gown by Carven Ong worth RM5,800, a two-day, one-night stay in Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur's Penthouse Suite; a buffet dinner at Latest Recipe Le Meridien KL; a Salvatore Ferragamo fragrance set worth RM1,000 and a Covershots Bridal Photography session worth RM2,400.
"We never expected to win but are definitely going to enjoy the prizes for our wedding next year," said the 27-year-old banker Lee.
Each participating couple received a Love Pack worth RM1,380 from Carven Ong, Salvatore Ferragamo, Incanto Bliss fragrance, Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur, Golden Screen Cinemas, Chocolate Chapters, Cacao Rich, Covershots and One Red Lily.
