Petaling Jaya, 12 May 2010 – The “Sin Chew Shopping Mall Carnival” has officially been extended. Once again, Sin Chew Jit Poh will collaborate with many famous brands to bring a series of activities and the Sunshine Girl Search, which will take place in seven major cities simultaneously.
The “Sin Chew Shopping Mall Carnival” is an event that goes beyond schools unlike its ‘Sin Chew Carnival”, and into shopping malls around Klang Valley, to hold various family activities and contests in order to get closer to their readers and as a contribution to the community.
Due to the positive response from last year’s “Sin Chew Shopping Mall Carnival” and the Sunshine Girl Search in Klang Valley, Sin Chew Jit Poh and other sponsors are persistent in their efforts to organize it again.
Merchants sponsor enthusiastically
The Carnival was sponsored by Canon and Magnum while Tropicana City Mall sponsored the venue.
Other sponsors include Lim Kok Wing University, Hair Zone by Michael Poh, Estee Lauder, Fleet International, Poh Kong Jewellers, Steadtler, Sweet Florist, Focus Point, Room Eighteen, Royal Thai and San Francisco Steakhouse.
As Sin Chew Jit Poh’s Metro news coverage covers the entire Klang Valley, offering a variety of news including community, politics and fashion, the Metro desk helped the “Sin Chew Shopping Mall Carnival” in terms of publicity and also to create a dream platform – Sunshine Girl Search, a platform for teenagers to showcase their talents and to challenge them to be brave enough to achieve their dreams.
Last year’s Sunshine Girl Search competition drew enthusiastic response from the preliminary round, the semi finals, right up to the finals. Participants were not only given professional training, but walked away with cash money and prizes.

The Sunshine Girl Search is calling for participation. Any 16-year-old girl who are interested can fill up the participation form and mail it to Sin Chew Jit Poh.
The prizes for this contest are very attractive. Details of the activities and prizes will be announced when the contest date is near.
On Wednesday, Sin Chew Jit Poh’s Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Xu Chun Yu officiated both Sin Chew Carnival and Sin Chew Shopping Carnival, at the Sin Chew centre.
More than 150 people attended the ceremony. This is the second time we tie up with Sin Chew to organize the Shopping Mall Carnival.
